Privacy Policy
Last updated 22 May 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Averon Scientific Ltd (“we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit averon-scientific.co.uk or get in touch with us.
Averon Scientific Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17215301), with its registered office at 5 Brayford Square, London, England, E1 0SG. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the data controller responsible for your personal data.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use our contact form, you provide a reason for your enquiry and the content of your message, and you may optionally provide your name and email address. If you email us directly, we receive your email address and anything you include in your message.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — including IP addresses, browser type, the pages requested, and timestamps — which help keep the site secure, available, and working correctly.
Please do not send us special category data (such as health, biometric, or similar sensitive information) through the website. We do not ask for it and do not need it to respond to an enquiry.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and there is no third-party tracking on this site.
The site stores a single appearance (“theme”) preference in your browser’s local storage so it can remember your light/dark choice between visits. This stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
How and why we use your information
We use the personal data described above to:
- respond to your enquiry, provide quotes, and discuss pre-orders, consulting, or support — our legal basis is our legitimate interest in handling enquiries, and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract;
- keep the website secure, available, and functioning correctly — our legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting our site and visitors;
- comply with our legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims where necessary.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Netlify — hosts the website and runs the function that processes contact-form submissions.
- Brevo — delivers contact-form enquiries to us by email; your submission passes through Brevo’s service.
- Google Fonts — the site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
- OpenStreetMap — our About page embeds a location map served by OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address when the map loads.
- YouTube — our homepage offers an explainer video. The video player only loads if you choose to play it, at which point it is embedded from YouTube (a Google service), which then receives data including your IP address. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode.
We may also disclose personal data where we are required to do so by law or by a regulatory authority.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data on servers outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on the provider applying an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK data protection law — such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or transfer to a country covered by UK adequacy regulations.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry correspondence only for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you contact us again about the same matter, after which it is deleted. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a short period.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access a copy of your personal data, and to ask us to correct, erase, or restrict it, to object to certain processing, and to receive certain data in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, please email us at customerservice@averon-scientific.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk, though we’d appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This website is intended for a professional and academic audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Other websites
Our site may link to external websites that we do not operate. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised, and any changes take effect when published here.
